Revision Rhinoplasty (nose job) _ Palm B

Revision Rhinoplasty

Jupiter & Palm Beach, Florida

Revision rhinoplasty is considered to be the most difficult procedure in cosmetic and plastic surgery. This procedure is best done by only very specialized surgeons such as facial plastic surgeons.

Jean-Paul Azzi, MD is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon practicing in South Florida, specifically in Palm Beach County. Dr. Azzi is a revision rhinoplasty (nose job) expert based in Palm Beach, Florida, and patients travel from around the country seeking his expertise. He is considered one of the best rhinoplasty (nose job) surgeons in Florida and has an office located close to Palm Beach International Airport.

Dr. Azzi performs countless revision plastic surgery procedures every year including revision rhinoplasty (nose job). He always takes time to carefully evaluate every patient's nose and review all risks and limitations of the rhinoplasty procedure. This includes the intranasal aspect of the nose so form and function can both be improved with every rhinoplasty.

There are an enormous number of reasons people seek revision rhinoplasty. Sometimes it is one particular aspect of the nose, such as the hump (bridge) or tip, and other times it is small changes needed to many parts of the nose. One of the most common issues faced in the operating room during rhinoplasty is the reduction of a large hump that was left behind from the previous nose job. This can be a bone at the top of the hump or cartilage located closer to the tip of the nose. When the hump is left behind after the first rhinoplasty near the tip it is called a "polly beak deformity".

Other complaints people have about their previous rhinoplasties are in regard to an unrefined or bulbous tip. Often this is described simply as the tip being "too big". This lack of definition at the tip can be very troubling to a patient who has undergone a rhinoplasty with another plastic surgeon. Other issues that can occur at the tip of the nose after rhinoplasty or nose job is a tip being droopy. This is called under-rotation and can be corrected with a small cartilage graft for support. This will allow the tip of the nose to remain in a youthful position for many years and decades in the right rhinoplasty patient.

"Every patient's nose is unique and each patient has different needs. That is why Dr. Azzi tailors a plan specifically for each individual, discusses this plan in the mirror with the patient so they understand all aspects including the limits secondary to previous structures being altered during the first rhinoplasty and aspects specific to the patient's anatomy." - Dr. Azzi

Another reason patients seek out Dr. Azzi for their revision rhinoplasty is because he uses a patient's own cartilage for creating a natural and beautiful shape to the nose. He never uses synthetic implants for rhinoplasty, but instead creates grafts from a patients own cartilage for recreating structures in the nose. Implants that are typically used include Medpore, Gore-tex and silicone and all come with potential complications in plastic surgery.

When searching for a surgeon to perform your revision rhinoplasty or any revision facial plastic surgery procedure, be sure to find a specialist. These plastic surgery procedures can be very complicated and require sub-specialty training. Jean-Paul Azzi, MD is considered by many of his peers to be one of the best facial plastic surgeons in Palm Beach County and one of the best facial plastic surgeons in the country. Patients travel from around the country to see him in his Jupiter, Florida office or his Stuart, Florida office.
