Pre-wedding Cosmetic Treatments

The idea of a pre-wedding cosmetic procedure can seem a bit scary, but it’s all about the timeline. A seasoned cosmetic surgeon can help you navigate when to get what in order to leave the right amount of time for healing.

Doctor Jean-Paul Azzi of the Palm Beaches specializes in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and understands just how important this moment in time can be to the happy couple. With this understanding, Dr. Azzi is equipped to help make decisions about which procedures will make the biggest impact and when to get them in order for the happy couple to look and feel their best.

If you’d like to enhance your look, it is highly recommended that you schedule a consultation with a board-certified cosmetic surgeon as soon as you know you’re getting married. Whether you’re looking for a little refresher or a full-scale makeover, you’ll be happy you booked this consultation so far in advance. The sooner, the better.

Non-surgical

Non-surgical procedures like liquid brow lifts, lip fillers and cheek fillers can be done closer in to the date – some can be done a couple weeks from the big day and others may require a month or so for best results. Some of the most popular injectables for these type of procedures are typically Botox (or Xeomin or Jeuveau), Juvederm, Restylane, Versa, Radiesse and more.

Of course, some brides want something a little more substantial, and permanent, than injectables…

Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

One of the most popular pre-wedding surgical procedures is rhinoplasty. With all eyes (and photos) on your side profile as you stand at the alter facing one another, many brides and grooms want to make sure they feel confident in their profile. Dr. Azzi suggests giving yourself a minimum of one month before the big day to allow any swelling and potential bruising to go down. That said, the longer the better – as the final results for rhinoplasty can take from 6 months to a year to settle in.

Lip Lift

Another popular procedure is a lip lift, which elevates the upper lip by removing skin between the top of the lip and the nose. This procedure helps create a fuller top lip with a little tooth show for a really nice, supple pout – great for pictures. Dr. Azzi recommends getting this procedure at least one to two months away from the big day.

Facelift/ Neck Lift

In some cases, specifically for brides getting married later in life, a facelift and neck lift is what will make them feel the most beautiful. Tightening the skin can help restore a sense of youth within the face and neck and make them glow with confidence on their big day. This procedure should be done at least a month or two before the big day, ideally more like 6 months to a year for full results.

Eyelid Lift

Blepharoplasty (or an eye lid lift) is also a common procedure to make the eye area look younger and more rested. And let’s face it – no one wants to look tired on their wedding day! Again, this procedure should be done at least a month or two before the big day.

Your wedding day should be a day to remember, a day to look back on and a day to cherish. The last thing you should feel is insecure or concerned about the way you look. If some pre-wedding tweakments will make you a more confident bride or groom, we say go for it!
