These techniques are unique in that the skin is not “pulled tight,” giving a “plastic” or “windswept” look. Instead, Dr. Azzi repositions the deep structures in the face, which have succumbed to the effects of gravity and time, to the position they were located years earlier.

 

The skin is then simply tailored, similar to how a fine dress is tailored, to fit the new, more youthful, lifted face. This is the reason Dr. Azzi is confident telling many of his preoperative facelift patients - “in ten years you will still look better than you do today.” There are only a handful of surgeons in the nation trained in these modern techniques.

Facelift surgery addresses the effects of gravity, which is just one element of Dr. Azzi’s “triad of aging.” For this reason, Dr. Azzi may recommend treatment options to complement this procedure. Typically, these treatments and lifestyle changes are intended to specifically address one or both of the other two components of the “triad of aging” – texture changes and volume loss.
